Overnight Ramp Closure Will Introduce New Traffic Pattern at Foristell Interchange

All ramps connecting Interstate 70 with Routes T and W in Foristell are scheduled to close overnight Wednesday, August 19, as crews prepare to introduce a new traffic pattern at the interchange.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the closure is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. Wednesday. The ramps are expected to reopen by 4 a.m. Thursday, August 20.

The closure will allow crews to convert the interchange to its new divergeabout configuration.

What drivers should expect

When the ramps reopen Thursday morning, motorists will encounter a substantially different traffic pattern:

Drivers familiar with the temporary construction pattern should not rely on habit when approaching the interchange. Allow additional time, reduce speed and watch carefully for signs directing traffic through the new configuration.

I-70 traffic

The announced closure applies to the interchange ramps between I-70 and Routes T and W. Drivers who need to enter or leave I-70 at Foristell during the overnight closure should use another interchange.

Construction schedules remain subject to weather and other conditions.

Part of the larger I-70 project

The interchange reconstruction is part of MoDOT’s Improve I-70: Warrenton to Wentzville project. The larger project will reconstruct the interstate, add a third lane in each direction and make interchange and outer-road improvements throughout the corridor.

The Warrenton-to-Wentzville project is expected to continue through 2028.
