West Meyer Road to Close to Through Traffic Beginning September 30

WEST MEYER ROAD — Drivers who use West Meyer Road will need to take a detour beginning Wednesday, September 30, as construction moves forward on the St. Charles County roadway improvement project.

The St. Charles County Highway Department announced that West Meyer Road will close to through traffic between Route W and Duenke Road beginning September 30, 2026.

The closure is expected to last approximately one month before this section of West Meyer Road reopens. The County says additional closure sections will be announced in the future as work progresses on the project.

Detour Route

Through traffic will be required to follow posted detour signs around the closure.

Drivers can detour by traveling north on Route W to Duenke Road, then south on Duenke Road to reconnect with West Meyer Road.

Local residents will continue to have limited access to West Meyer Road to reach their homes during construction.

Oglesby Park Will Remain Accessible

Oglesby Park will remain open and accessible during the closure.

However, access to Oglesby Park will be from the Duenke Road side of the closure.

Drivers visiting the park should approach from Duenke Road rather than Route W while this portion of West Meyer Road is closed.

Part of the West Meyer Road Improvement Project

The closure is necessary for construction associated with the larger West Meyer Road improvement project, which Explore Foristell recently highlighted as part of our Development Projects coverage.

The project is part of St. Charles County’s continuing work to improve its road system and includes improvements intended to increase safety and accommodate transportation needs along the corridor.

With West Meyer Road serving residents and providing access between Route W and the Wentzville area, motorists should allow additional travel time while the detour is in place.
